THE MATCHUP
Thursday night marks the fourth all-time meeting between Queens and UNCG, two programs separated by 84 miles. Queens holds a 2-1 series lead against the Spartans following their inaugural meeting in 1990.

LAST TIME OUT
Queens used an 18-0 first-half run against Sacred Heart before turning to their defense and holding the Pioneers to a 35-percent shooting clip en route to an 81-64 victory.

Since 2013-14, Queens is 257-85 inside Curry Arena. Since joining Division 1, the Royals are 14-2 in non-conference home games.

ASUN/SOCON CHALLENGE
The two leagues came together for another year of the ASUN/SoCon Challenge after it's debut last season. Queens went 2-0 in the challenge after defeating Western Carolina and VMI last season. This year, the challenge has been closely contested, with the series split 4-4.

Since entering the Division 1 ranks, Queens has made a concerted effort to schedule games against the Carolinas. Thursday night will mark the 14
th all-time meeting with a program from North Carolina or South Carolina, and the Royals are 6-7 in those matchups.

Queens ranks 64
th in the country and leads the ASUN with 28.8 threes attempted per game. Against Sacred Heart last weekend, the Royals buried 16 threes, which tied for sixth all-time in a single game in program history. The Royals have knocked down a triple in 383 consecutive games.

According to KenPom, the Royals are playing the 99
th hardest strength of schedule this season, with four opponents sitting top 50 currently, including Arkansas, Auburn, Villanova, and Virginia.

LINEUP MAINSTAY
In the era of the transfer portal, graduate student
Chris Ashby has been a mainstay in the Queens lineup. Ashby ranks tied for ninth in the country with 106 games played amongst current active players. Alex Karaban (UConn), Fletcher Loyer (Purdue), and Braden Smith (Purdue) top the list with 115 and 114 games played, respectively.

DOUBLE THE MANN
Senior
Nasir Mann has opened his final campaign strongly, averaging 14.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, both of which are career-highs. Mann has brought down double-digit rebounds twice this season, including 10 as part of a double-double against Winthrop.

CERTIFIED SHARPSHOOTER
After being named the ASUN Preseason Player of the Year,
Chris Ashby has lived up to the honors, scoring 14.2 points on 44 percent shooting from downtown. The Houston, Texas native is coming off a season in which he broke the single-season school record with 115 three-pointers made. Ashby sits 43 threes away from breaking the school record set by Chris Benson in 2003.

MATCHUP PROBLEM
Sophomore
Yoav Berman enters his second season in Charlotte and has proven to be a tough matchup for opponents. The 6-6 guard has run point for the Royals and is averaging a team-high 14.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists through the first two weeks of the season.

CHAMPIONSHIP REBOUNDING
Since joining the league, Queens has ranked top three in the ASUN in rebounding every season. The Royals sit 10
th in the league in rebounding, but have won the glass in their last two matchups. When the Royals win the battle on the boards in Division 1, they are 40-16 overall.

TRIM THE TURNOVERS
Queens is committing 15.8 turnovers per game early in the season. In Division 1, the Royals are 30-11 in games in which they commit fewer turnovers than their opponents.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS
In just their fourth year in the league, Queens was picked to win the ASUN by the league's coaches, garnering six first-place votes. The Royals were picked third in the media poll behind North Alabama and Eastern Kentucky.

UNCG enters Thursday night searching for its first win after an 0-4 start. The Spartans have been tested with previous games against Kansas State, Elon, N.C. State, and Austin Peay.

UAlbany transfer and America East Sixth Man of the Year Justin Neely leads UNCG with 13.0 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. Neely ranks third in the nation in defensive rebounds per game.

ASUN/SOCON HISTORY
UNCG went 1-1 last season in the ASUN/SoCon Challenge. The Spartans took down FGCU in the season opener before falling at North Florida later in the season.

UNCG was picked fifth in the SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll after posting their eighth 20-win season with a 20-12 record last year.

Mike Jones is in his fifth season at the helm of the Spartans program. The 2017-18 Big South Coach of the Year at Radford brought the Highlanders to multiple Big South Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances.
