Budion Nets First Career Brace as Royals Fall at Stetson

DELAND, Fla. – Queens University of Charlotte (3-8-4, 2-4-1 ASUN) came up short in a 3-2 road battle at Stetson (5-12-0, 2-6-0) on Thursday night at the Stetson Athletic Training Center. Freshman McKayla Budion scored both goals for the Royals, marking her first career brace, while classmate Tamia Ford assisted on each strike for the first multi-assist match of her career.

Turning Point
Queens opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Tamia Ford found McKayla Budion in front of goal for the early 1-0 advantage. After Stetson leveled the match, the duo connected again in the 60th minute, as Ford's pass set up Budion's second of the evening. Stetson responded quickly with back-to-back goals in the 67th and 68th minutes to retake the lead. Despite several late pushes, the Royals couldn't find an equalizer in the closing stages.
