THE SHORT STORY: The Queens University women's tennis team fell to Charlotte 0-5 in their season opener on Friday afternoon at LifeTime Fitness in Charlotte.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The duo of Lucy Hogan and Zoe Cvitanovic fell 2-6 at the top doubles spot. 
- Singles competition saw the Royals put up a spirited fight. Lucy Hogan battled at the top spot but was bested 2-6, 1-6 by Charlotte's Ni Xi.
- Zoe Cvitanovic showcased resilience in the second singles match, pushing her opponent in the first set before falling 5-7, 0-6.
- Andreea Onitoiu displayed determination but ultimately dropped her match 0-6, 5-7 against Prisca Abbas.

NEXT UP
Queens will look to rebound in their next matches on January 31, when they face Belmont Abbey and Livingstone in a doubleheader.
