Queens Squares Off against No. 5 Michigan State on Thursday Night

EAST LANSING, MICH. – In their first match with a United Soccer Coaches Division 1 Top 25 opponent, the Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team fell at No. 5 Michigan State by a final score of 6-0 on Thursday night.

TURNING POINT
Following 28 minutes of scoreless action, the nationally ranked Michigan State Spartans broke through when Justina Gaynor found Bella Najera who put away the opening goal in the bottom center of the net. Just six minutes later, Emily Mathews netted back-to-back goals to give the Spartans a commanding 3-0 advantage as the first half winded down.
 
KEY STATS & NOTES
  • Junior Kelsey Jargstorf earned her sixth start of the season and remained active throughout the night. The Spartans ripped a season-high 29 shots and placed 12 on the frame.
  • Senior Maddy Leone recorded the Royals lone shot of the night as the Hilliard, Ohio native has posted a shot in four straight matches.
