TURNING POINT
After taking a 1-0 lead into the break, the Cardinals set the tone for a big second half with a pair of goals within the first two minutes of the second half. The goals extended the Ball State lead to 3-0 and sparked a six-goal second half.
KEY STATS & NOTES
- Laney Newnam found the back of the net for the first time this season, and the second time in her career. The forward provided a spark off the bench for the Royals totaling two shots across 56 minutes of work.
- Maddy Leone, Madeline Cheatham, and Sophia Muetterties added a shot for Queens. Muetterties placed her lone shot on the frame while Leone has ripped a shot in five straight games.
- Junior Kelsey Dunne made her second career appearance in net. The Coral Springs, Florida native tallied two saves in goal across 16 minutes of work.
- Sophomore Chloe Leonard and freshman Avery Miller made their first collegiate appearances in the match.
- The Ball State attack was aggressive all afternoon as the Cardinals outshot the Royals 23-5.
- Cardinals forward Delaney Caldwell finished the match with a goal and three assists while Addie Chester turned in a brace and an assist.
