CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte triathlon team raced in the Bulldog Super Sprint Kickoff today with just four triathletes competing. The Royals finished second behind Wingate while Duquesne took third place.

"Fun opener today at Wingate in a heats-&-finals super sprint format," Director of Triathlon Sonni Dyer commented. "We raced only four, took the top two spots, and put all Royals among the top six in a field of 51 women. Great start to the season.
 
I was particularly impressed with Emma who really controlled the A-finals bike pack to set up her team as well as Kira (Ribbink) who, due to injury, raced twice in a single day after sitting out for over a year."

The Royals are back in action on Sept. 15 at the Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon.
