Michael Cabana Resigns as Queens Head Men’s Tennis Coach

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Michael Cabana has resigned as Queens University of Charlotte head men's tennis coach, Queens Director of Athletics Cherie Swarthout announced.

"I wish Michael the best on the next stop of his coaching journey," Swarthout stated. We thank him for leading the men's tennis program into the Division I era."

Cabana joined the Royals following the announcement of their transition to Division I following a storied career at Wingate University. His high-level coaching was evident as he led the Royals to their most Atlantic Sun Conference and home wins in the DI era this past season. Additionally, Queens picked up a notable 4-3 win over JMU on the road during the spring. Following the regular season, Arenui Luethi became the first Royal to earn ASUN All-Freshman honors after finishing the season 10-9 in singles play.

Prior to joining the Royals, Cabana was a 17-time South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year with the Bulldogs. He posted a 230-111 men's record and a 243-99 women's record at Wingate.

The search for a new head coach is currently underway.
