CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team came up short against the Lindenwood Lions tonight in a 3-0 decision (13-25, 21-25, 22-25), despite a third set comeback led by kills-leader Chance Shampine.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Chance Shampine had a career night - leading all in the match with 16 kills (a career-high). His hitting percentage of .429 was his second-best hitting percentage in a match this season.
- Daniel Leitao led the Royals with 23 assists, while Conner Sheehan of the Lions put up 33 assists in the match to lead.
- The Royals out-blocked Lindenwood in the match as a team, eight-to-six. Stirling Sims finished with a solid six blocks to lead all in the match, a season-high.
- The Royals hit their best in the second set with a .348, but outhit the Lions in the third set (.345-to-.286).

"I am really proud of how we are learning to fight our way back against really tough, competitive teams," Price said. "To finish the match on that type of run is commendable. I reminded them that we are capable of playing with and beating teams like Lindenwood. Our word of the season is 'opportunity', because we get the opportunity to play nearly-ranked and ranked opponents all season."
Despite the loss, Queens clinched the eighth seed in the MIVA Tournament due to a Quincy loss against Ball State on Thursday night (3-0).
