CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Royals (5-4) fell this afternoon in a tightly contested game with Furman University (2-6) by a score of 13-11.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 4-2 in the opening quarter, the Royals scored four unanswered goals in the second quarter to take a 6-4 lead at the halftime break.
Furman fought their way back into the game tying things up at 7-7 with 6:44 on the clock in the third, and four ties would follow before the Paladins were able to score two crucial goals late in the game to take the victory.

- Jordan Tandler led the Royals with four goals while Olivia Abe, Kayleen Favreau, and Elise Grissett each scored twice.
- Maura O'Donoghue recorded three assists to lead the Royals in the category.
- Defensively, Kaylee Mia Geist led with four caused turnovers while Ainsley Thurston and Isabella Swanson each tallied three caused turnovers.
- Anna Roser led the Paladins with four goals while Sophie Shaw totaled three goals and two assists.
- Queens outshot the Paladins 27-24, putting 18 shots on goal.
- The Royals won the battle for ground balls, 19-17, but lost the battle for draw controls, 16-10.
