CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Royals (5-3) collected a convincing victory over the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb this afternoon, winning 16-4 in Boiling Springs.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Queens jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter before taking an 11-1 lead into the halftime break.
 
The 10-goal lead heading into the third quarter was enough for the Royals to coast to victory in the second half of action.
 
KEY STATS & NOTES

• Kayleen Favreau scored a new career-high six goals in the win after notching five goals in the first half.
• Elise Grissett and Ainsley Thurston added two goals each.
• Abby Ziegenfuse totaled four caused turnovers while Isabella Swanson led in draw controls with five.
• Goalkeeper Caroline Kraemer collected the win after totaling five saves in 30 minutes of action. Gianna Coburn totaled four saves in the second half.
• Aislinn Washburn recorded 11 saves for Gardner-Webb in 30 minutes of play.
• Queens outshot the Runnin' Bulldogs,39-18, putting 29 shots on goal.
• The Royals also won the battle for ground balls 28-19 and totaled 15 draw controls to Gardner-Webb's nine.
