THE SHORT STORY
Behind a 12-point and 10-rebound double-double from Jaxon Pollard, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team took care of business on Tuesday night in a dominant 91-53 victory over Carolina University. All 11 Royals that suited up checked into action and found the scoring column, including career-highs from DJ Shine, Maban Jabriel, and Jordon Nevill.

FROM COACH LEONARD
"I was really happy with our effort defensively and on the glass. I thought we were able to force some turnovers with our pressure. I also thought some young guys like DJ Shine and Maban Jabriel got some minutes and performed well and showed that we can trust them and that they are ready to play."

BY THE NUMBERS
-For the second time in his career, senior Jaxon Pollard recorded a double-double. The Cedar Hills, Utah native was relentless on the glass bringing down a game-high 10 boards, including five on the offensive glass. Pollard has found his groove reaching double figures in three straight games.
-Freshman DJ Shine earned his first career start and turned in a season-high 13 points, two assists, and a steal over 16 minutes of action.
-Fellow rookie Maban Jabriel played a season-high 23 minutes and recorded a season-best 11 points and seven rebounds. The Waterloo, Ontario, Canada native connected on three shots from downtown to kickstart the offense in the first half.
-Freshman Yoav Berman continued his stellar rookie campaign scoring 10 points, grabbing six rebounds, and distributing a pair of assists. Berman has totaled double figures in four outings this season, including back-to-back games.
-Charlotte native Jordon Nevill had a career day playing 23 minutes and burying a trio of shots from deep for a career-high nine points.
-Sharpshooter Chris Ashby turned in nine points on 3-of-10 shooting from deep. The Houston, Texas native buried his 200th career three-pointer in the game.
-Kalib Mathews was a key spark off the bench scoring eight points, grabbing three rebounds, dishing out three assists, and swiping a pair of steals. The two steals were a season-high for the senior out of Franklinton, North Carolina.
-Nasir Mann and Leo Colimerio earned another start for Queens and combined to score 13 points and bring down six boards.
-Malcolm Wilson made his 10th start of the season and scored four points, grabbed eight rebounds, and blocked two shots.

NOTABLE MOMENTS

-Halfway through the first half, the Royals sparked another massive run going on an 18-2 surge over 4:08 to increase their lead to 38-11. During that span, the Royals buried three shots from downtown.
-Leading 71-42 with 8:33 remaining in the game, the Royals ripped off a 19-2 run to extend their lead to the largest of the game at 46.

FROM JAXON POLLARD
"Just keeping it simple and remember my roots as Coach Leonard and I have talked about, which is all about playing as hard as I can and getting rebounds. That's why he recruited me and that's been my mindset every game. In doing that, it's helped everything else fall into place, and my teammates have been great about finding me when I'm open."

NEXT UP
Queens returns to action on Saturday, December 14th when the Royals travel to Boiling Springs for an in-state showdown with Gardner-Webb University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN Plus. The Royals and Runnin' Bulldogs will meet for the sixth time since 1992 with Queens holding a 3-2 advantage.
