CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queens University of Charlotte men's volleyball team collected their first 3-0 sweep of the season against Mount Olive on Thursday night inside the Levine Center, and made history by recording their highest hitting percentage in the history of the Queens men's volleyball program.
The Royals' hitting percentage of .592 on the night surpassed their most recent program-best hitting percentage recorded against Lees-McRae on March 2, 2023 (.466).
SET BY SET
The Royals and the Trojans fought tough in the first frame, but Queens posted a tremendous offensive showing — a .500 hitting percentage from 16 kills off 30 attempts and only one error. Jack Brinkman pieced together seven kills in the first set alone to pave the way for the 25-18 triumph.
In the second, Mount Olive held their ground against the kill-hungry Royals with the help of Hayden Frear on the kill, but Queens' lead never faltered — and hit a remarkable .680 off of 19 kills on 25 attempts and only suffering two errors.
In the third and final set, the Trojans had ran out of gas midway through the frame— and it was all Queens at the 9-8 mark. A kill from Shaphar Grant sparked a 13-3 Royals-favored run that put them up by 10. Despite a late attack effort from Kory Grant and Constantinos Iacovou, the Royals would seal the deal by a 25-15 score.

REMARKS FROM COACH PRICE
"That is the finest attack performance, in terms of efficiency, that we have ever had," Head Coach Jeremy Price said. "Mount Olive made us play, they only missed five serves … they didn't bail us out. We had to earn it. Everyone that attacked the ball tonight did extremely well."
