THE SHORT STORY: Laurenz Blickwede and Filippo Verdese record first points of the season in the 5-2 loss to Charlotte on Saturday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Win Steveker and Griffin Lovern won their No. 3 doubles match with a 6-3 mark but UNCC took the doubles point after winning both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. 
-Laurenz Blickwede picked up a No. 2 singles win in three sets. Blickwede lost the first set 7-5 and won the last two sets 6-1 and 6-3. 
-Filippo Verdese also pulled out a victory in three sets. Verdese lost 6-4 in the first set and won back to back sets with a tiebreaker. 

NEXT UP
The Royals are back in action on Friday, January 18th where they will face Furman. The match will begin at 3:00 pm.
