Royals Fall at Top-Ranked Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. --- The Queens University of Charlotte women's rugby team suffered their first loss of the NIRA season Saturday as they lost to Harvard University, 67-7.
 
WHAT HAPPENED?
In the first half, the Royals were held scoreless, despite good play against Harvard, The Crimson would end the half with a 43-0 lead over Queens. Harvard would expand their lead to 55 early in the second half. Jess Gozlan would then score the only try for the Royals towards the final minutes of the match. Maddie Hughes would then follow with a conversion to make the score 55-7. Harvard would add to their lead and secure the win 67-7.

"We were expecting a big challenge from Harvard going in. There's a reason they're perennially one of the best collegiate teams in all of women's rugby. I'm proud of how the team fought and played together. This is a match we can learn a lot about ourselves, and it sets a marker for where we want to be moving forward."
 
WHAT'S NEXT?
The Royals will look to bounce back into the win column when they travel to Emmitsburg, Md. for a matchup against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, September 23.
