Jacob Wright Named Assistant Director for Broadcasting

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte Producer of Broadcasting Jim Piscitelli has added Jacob Wright to his staff as assistant director for broadcasting. Wright joins the Royals after spending the past two seasons with the Florida Everblades.

"It's rare to find someone with as much experience as Jake, especially this early in his career, but we were lucky," Piscitelli stated. "His skills, work ethic, and determination make him a great addition to our team and allow him to jump in and contribute from day one. I look forward to what we can do in the upcoming sports season."

Wright was a member of the game day crew for the ECHL franchise, Florida Everblades, based in Estero, Fla. He primarily worked in the director/technical director roles simultaneously on five camera broadcasts, streaming games through FloSports. At the same time, Wright worked in various roles as a member of the Spring Training control room staff at JetBlue Park, home of the Boston Red Sox.

"I want to thank Jim, Jeff, and the entire Queens University community for the wonderful opportunity to follow my broadcast production passion," Wright commented. "When being told about this project at Queens, the most appealing aspects of the position were the ability to work with a transitioning Division I athletics program and the chance to make a difference with the Queens student. I'm looking forward to growing my working relationship with Jim, whose reputation speaks for itself, and the ability to improve my skills every day."

Wright began his career working with the Syracuse Chiefs as part of the gameday staff in the video production department. He worked with the Triple-AAA Minor League Baseball team from 2014-2018 also spending some of that time at CBS Sports.

Following a short sting working as a director and producer for Ithaca College Television, Wright started an internship at Fox Sports in January 2019 working his way up to a full-time position. There, he logged live broadcasts of professional and collegiate sporting events, turning them into nightly scripts and highlights. Some of his highlights included the U.S. Open, March Madness, MLB postseason, NFL playoffs, and the Daytona 500.

Wright has also worked with WINK News and Waterman Broadcasting in production and as a newscast director.

Wright holds a bachelor's degree in television radio from Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications.
