Guillermo Jordan Named IVA Co-Defensive Player of the Year; Three Named to All-Conference Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Queens men's volleyball's season came to a frustrating end Saturday evening, as they fell to Lincoln Memorial in the IVA Championship Final, 3-0. The Royals enjoyed their third-consecutive season above a .500 record, with numerous student-athletes making extraordinary contributions, resulting in a medley of Royals receiving IVA honors.

After a stellar year that saw him conclude the season ranked sixth in the nation in digs per set, Guillermo Jordan was named the IVA Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Jordan played a crucial in Queens' serve receive and mid-rally defense, as he enjoyed the best season in his four-year career. He managed double-digit digs in eight matches this season, picking up nine digs in another five matches. His season high came against both Barton and Mount Olive, where he picked up 14 digs in each match. Pilch was Queens' lead attacker in over 75% of its matches, finishing with double-digit kills 15 during the season including a career-high 21 against Limestone. He concluded the season with team-high 294 kills and 136 digs, including two double-doubles. He was twice named the IVA Offensive Player of the Week and also won the Off the Block Offensive Player of the Week.

Jack Brinkman was one of two Royals named to the All-IVA Second Team, also playing a heavy role in Queens' offensive attack as the other outside hitter alongside Pilch. Brinkman finished second on the team in kills with 239 while leading the team in service aces with 30. He also made nice contributions on the defensive side, ranking second on the team in digs with 146.
