HOW IT HAPPENED

-After leaving four runners on base in the top two innings, the Royals would cash in with four runs on three hits and a Governors error in the third inning. Riley Cheek would open the inning with a single up the middle before Nick Brassington laced a double to left center. Connor Manco would load the bases with his second hit by pitch of the afternoon. JD Coleman would bring in the first run with an infield groundout before Christian Maggio reached on a dropped fly ball by the Governors left fielder, bringing across the second run. Tyler Peters would shoot a single through the right side for an RBI before JJ Sousa capped off the scoring with an infield groundout.

-The Royals would extend their lead to 5-0 in the top of the fourth inning as Nick Melton scored from third on a two-out wild pitch.

-Austin Peay would answer in the bottom of the fifth inning with five runs on six hits. The Governors worked seven straight base runners as they chased Royals starter Zach Kelly from the game.

-The Governors would break the tie in the bottom of the eighth inning with three runs on three hits and one Queens error.
