CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team is gearing up to begin their 2023 ASUN Tournament journey on Friday, April 14
th. The Royals will square off against the University of North Alabama at 11:00 a.m. on the campus of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. Fans can follow the action live on

"We are excited about the opportunity to have a rematch against North Alabama in the first round of the ASUN Tournament," said Coach Cabana. "We came up just short in the regular season and we are looking to flip the results this week. When it comes to tournament play, anything can happen and we will be motivated to prove ourselves."
 
The Royals will be squaring off against the Lions for the second time this season. The league foes battled on March 26
th in Charlotte and the Lions snuck past the Royals 4-3. North Alabama captured the doubles point at No. 1 and No. 3 before taking three singles victories. 
Edoardo Cecere, 
Win Steveker, and 
Laurenz Blickwede recorded singles victories on the day for the Royals.
 
Laurenz Blickwede and 
Win Steveker have led the Royals this season picking up 10 wins each. Steveker went on an incredible six-game winning streak this season and holds a 6-3 mark in the last 10 matches. Last year's Conference Player of the Year 
Edoardo Bottino is 8-6 on the season, including a 3-3 mark in league play. Fellow senior 
Edoardo Cecere holds a 9-11 overall record this season, including a 5-4 record from the No. 2 slot.
 
In doubles play, Cecere and Steveker have dominated at No. 2 holding a 10-2 record. The mark is the top winning percentage at the No. 2 court across the league.
 
The winner of the opening round match will advance to face the #3 seed University of North Florida in the quarterfinals on Saturday, April 15. The match will begin at 11:00 a.m.
