CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (5-4) welcomed Presbyterian College (3-5) to Dickson Field this afternoon to close out their non-conference schedule, defeating the Blue Hose 17-7.
How It Happened
After trading goals early, the Royals used a five-goal run that spanned across the first and second periods to pull ahead of the Blue Hose. Presbyterian would score a goal at 10:34 to make the score 6-2, but the Royals responded with four unanswered goals to take a 10-2 lead into the halftime break.
After outscoring the Blue Hose, 5-2, in the third quarter to increase the margin to 11, 15-4, Queens was able to coast to victory in the fourth with a running clock.
Key Stats & Notes
- Kayleen Favreau matched her career-high in goals, totaling five on the day. Shannon Donovan also scored five while Isabella Swanson added three points on two goals and one assist. Stephanie Joyce added two goals.
- Grace Guglielmo led defensively, totaling six caused turnovers and five draw controls. She also scored her first career goal at Queens.
- Sharn Muffett earned today's win in goal for Queens after tallying two saves in 30 minutes. Caroline Kraemer recorded six saves en route to crossing the century mark in career saves at Queens.
- Lilly Phillips took today's loss in goal for Presbyterian after totaling 10 saves in 45 minutes.
- Williow Hammond led the Blue Hose with four goals.
- Queens outshot Presbyterian, 38-17, putting 31 shots on goal compared to the Blue Hose's 15 shots on goal.
- The Royals also won the battle at the draw, 14-12.

"What a great way to finish our out of conference play," head coach
Kelly McQuilkin stated. "We had seven different goal scorers and our team caused 12 turnovers. I'm very pleased with the competition level and high standard our girls demand out of themselves when they step into the field. We're entering into a new season this coming week as we begin conference play. I'm excited for this next challenge with this team."
