THE SHORT STORY: The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team dropped a Friday afternoon match with the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The visiting Gamecocks secured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3. On the top court,
Edoardo Bottino and
Laurenz Blickwede were even 6-6 before going unfinished.
-Sophomore
Win Steveker picked up his fifth straight victory with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(7-5) win at No. 3. Steveker improved to 9-7 on the season and 2-1 in league action.
-Senior
Edoardo Cecere dropped a tough three-set battle 6-4, 2-6, 0-1(10-8) at No. 2.
-The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for the Royals.
NEXT UP
Queens will return to the court on Sunday, March 26
th when they welcome the University of North Alabama for senior day at 2:00 p.m. The match will be played at the Howard Levine Tennis Center at the Queens Sports Complex. Admission is free to the public. Senior day festivities will begin at 1:30 p.m.
