Men's Volleyball Extends Winning Streak to Four Games with Sweep over Lees-McRae

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Men's Volleyball found themselves in the win column yet again after a 3-0 victory over Lees-McRae (25-23, 25-22, 25-22).

MATCH SUMMARY
Queens found themselves down early in the first set but quickly worked themselves out of the deficit. After trailing 12-9, they'd push eight of the next nine points to take a 17-13 lead. Lees-McRae would respond well but the Royals would hold the lead for the remainder of the set, taking it 25-23.

A kill by Jack Brinkman would give Queens an early 8-4 lead, a lead that they would not lose throughout. The Bobcats would fight back to bring the score within three but would not cut the deficit any shorter, as Queens' strong defensive play combined with their ability to connect on offense propelled them to a 25-22 second-set victory.

In the final set, Queens would find themselves in an early hole yet again, as Lees-McRae would pull ahead 4-0. Down 7-3, Queens would take the next six points, taking a well-earned 9-7 lead. The Bobcats would tie the set at 16 and 17, but a late run by Queens gave them a 25-22 victory that would ultimately claim the match.

COACH'S WORDS
"It was another efficient offensive performance for us tonight" said head coach Jeremy Price. "It's never easy to come to Lees-Mcrae and play and they played a very scrappy match. I was really pleased with our middles perform tonight. Reed Shuey, and his debut was outstanding and Stirling Sims was incredibly efficient. Jack Brinkman played like the reigning player of the week that he is and had 15 kills and hit over 500."
