Queens found themselves off to a strong early yet again as a two-run base knock by Haley Hmiel in the top of the first inning put the Royals on the board first.

Drexel responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the second, knotting the game at two.

In the top of the fourth, Ashlyn Mickler and Kayla Smith each managed RBI singles, bringing home Juhles Kelly and Mickler to extend the lead to 4-2.

One inning later, Lindsey DeRoeck stepped up to bat made solid contact, smashing her second home run of the season over the left center field wall put Queens ahead by three.

In the sixth, Smith found open grass through the right side, bringing home Mickler who scored her third run of the game.

Autumn Courtney, who started the game and pitched its entirety held Drexel to the two early runs on just four total hits, earning her fourth victory of the season.

Queens took on USC Upstate for the third time this week to conclude the Wings ETC Classic.

The Spartans got up on the Royals early and maintained a lead throughout, scoring four runs in the second inning and another three in the fourth.

COACH'S WORDS
"Every game we played, we improved and were a constant threat" said head coach Stacey Schramm. "The results are not indicative of how they competed. There were a lot of positives that we'll continue to stack on top of one another. I continue to be so proud of their commitment to one another and to the goals we have set for the season"

Queens will head back down to South Carolina next weekend, competing in the Pinnacle Scotsman Invitational with matchups against the host, Presbyterian College, and Buffalo.
