The Short Story:Â The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team dropped their final contest of the season on Friday night against Liberty by a final score of 73-53.
BY THE NUMBERS

Kenny Dye and
Chris Ashby led the Royals with a team-high nine points each. Dye also dished out six assists while Ashby netted team-high three three-pointers.

Jay'Den Turner led the way on the boards, snagging six rebounds while contributing eight points.

BJ McLaurin netted six points in the game, grabbing three rebounds and two steals as well.

Quan McCluney contributed six points, two rebounds, and a steal on the evening. Â
-After shooting 30.8 percent in the first half, Liberty managed to connect better in the final 20 minutes as they finished with a 57.6 percent shooting mark in the second half.
-The Flames won the battle on the boards 40-26.
-Queens had the advantage in the long-ball, draining nine threes to Liberty's five.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
-The Royals opened the second half on a 5-0 run which lasted 2:53 and helped them re-claim the lead after trailing by one at the half.Â
-After Turner knotted the game at 47, Liberty pushed a 15-0 run which gave the Flames a 62-47 lead with under five minutes remaining, ultimately proving to be the difference.
NEXT UP
Despite the loss, the Royals clinched a spot in the ASUN postseason tournament. They will open their first-ever appearance in the tournament with a matchup against Florida Gulf Coast on Monday, February 27 at 7PM with the game being played at Kennesaw State.
