THE SHORT STORY: The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team made history on Saturday evening picking up their first Division 1 victory over North Carolina Central.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Royals gained an early advantage by sweeping the doubles point for the first time this season.
Laurenz Blickwede and
Edoardo Bottino improved to 3-3 as a tandem with a 6-4 win on the top court.
Edoardo Cecere and
Win Steveker won their third straight match together with a 6-2 victory at No. 2.
Lukas Gosselin and
Arthur Bazil cruised to their first doubles victory at No. 3, 6-1.
-Queens dominated singles play as five Royals notched a win.

Edoardo Bottino improved to 4-3 this season with a 6-2, 6-3 route at No. 1.

Win Steveker won a three-set battle 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
-Sophomore
Laurenz Blickwede improved to 3-2 at No. 4 with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win.

Samuele Pia recorded his first career singles victory as a Royal with a hard-earned 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 win at No. 5.

Lukas Gosselin picked up his first career singles victory as well from the No. 6 court 7-6(0-5), 6-1.
NEXT UP
Queens will return to the court tomorrow February 19
th for a crosstown showdown at Johnson C. Smith. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m. The match will also put a wrap on a nine-game road stretch to open the season.
