McLaurin Records a Double-Double in Royals Homecoming Battle with Bellarmine

The Short Story: Three Royals reach double figures as Queens drops a Saturday showdown with Bellarmine by a final score of 88-84.

BY THE NUMBERS
-BJ McLaurin recorded his first double-double in a Queens uniform with a 15-point and 10-rebound performance.
-AJ McKee led the Royals with a team-high 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. The sophomore also added five rebounds and four assists.
-Veteran Kenny Dye poured in 23 points, including an impressive 12-for-13 mark from the charity stripe.
-Jay'Den Turner and Chris Ashby combined to score 16 points and eight rebounds.
-Bellarmine won the battle on the glass 36-32, including a 20-13 mark in the second half.
-The Knights managed to shoot 53 percent from the field and 55 percent from behind the arc while the Royals got 40 percent from the field and 28 percent from deep.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Leading 6-5 in the first half, the Royals would use a quick 8-0 run to grab a 14-5 advantage.
-Trailing 47-42 in the second half, Bellarmine would go on a 13-3 run to grab their largest lead of the half at five.
-Bellarmine would use a 9-3 run with less than a minute to go to extend their lead to eight at 84-77.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-AJ McKee turned in his third straight 20+ point performance, and ninth this season.
-With his 23-point performance, Kenny Dye is now 15 points away from breaking the Queens all-time scoring record. Dye is also 18 points away from moving into first place in career assists.
-BJ McLaurin's double-double is the first as a Royal, and 15th of his career. The effort marked the third straight game which a Royal posted a double-double.
