Royals Set to Compete for Women's Triathlon National Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte triathlon team will be competing at the 2023 USAT Women's Collegiate Triathlon Championship on Nov. 11 in Tempe, Arizona. For the second year, the Royals, who hold six DII national titles, will be racing in the Division I field as they are on the hunt for their first title since leveling up.

COACH'S QUOTE
"The triathlon squad is very excited and grateful to compete for a DI national title this weekend," Queens Director of Triathlon Sonni Dyer stated. "Learning from last year's second-place finish to ASU, we had two objectives at the start this fall. First, do all the little things that protected our health and remain injury-free. Second, compete completely unified as a team.

Despite the normal challenges that exist in every season, these women have stayed true to that challenge. I constantly remind them that we're not just building a program and adding to a tradition of athletic excellence at Queens, we're actively building an NCAA championship sport for generations of young girls to come. They have an opportunity to be a part of Queens history and our sport's history. This group is up for the task."
