Three Royals Earn Post-Season All-ASUN Honors

ATLANTA, GA – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team earned three selections to the ASUN All-Conference teams, as officially announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon. Erica Turner and Hilda Svensson were voted third-team All-Conference while Lucie Platt was voted to the All-Freshman team.

"I'm so excited for the recognition that Erica, Hilda, and Lucie have earned," said Shannon Neely Noel. "These are our first postseason recognitions in the Division 1 ASUN era and are a great representation of the team's efforts and the program's direction. I know they and their teammates will be so proud of their selection to these postseason awards. It is well deserved, and I am so happy for them."

Platt has been a dominant force for the offense as she leads the team in goals with three goals and six points on the year. The Warrington, England native also recorded 11 shots and four shots on goals.

"Lucie really found her stride as conference play hit and is currently our leading goal scorer," said Neely Noel. "She has continued to showcase herself as a technical and influential member of our midfield."

Turner ended the regular season second in the ASUN in saves with 96 saves. The graduate student now leads the program in all-time saves with 387 and picked up seven shutouts this season.

"This year Erica continued to cement her impact on Queens soccer and now the ASUN through her daily play and by setting records," stated Neely Noel. "It's wonderful that she is continuing to be recognized for her play.

Svensson started in all 17 games of the season and played 1508 minutes leading the team to its first-ever Division 1 postseason berth. She recorded seven shots, three shots on goal, and two assists on the season.

"Hilda has been with the program for five seasons and has really left a legacy that will exist well beyond her playing days," continued Neely Noel. "She is a great representation of what we believe in this program; everyone plays offense, and everyone plays defense. As a member of a backline who has earned so many shutouts, she has also had high influence on how we attack and get involved in the forward part of our field."

The Royals open ASUN Championship play tomorrow against #5 Eastern Kentucky in Florence, Alabama at 8:00 p.m. The matchup will be streamed on ESPN Plus.
