Men's Soccer Dominates Jacksonville as Feldman Records Hat Trick

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team dominated Jacksonville on their way to a 5-1 win. With the win, the Royals improve to 3-7-2 overall and 1-4 in conference play while the Dolphins fall to 3-7-3 and 1-1-3 in conference play. In the match, Michel Feldman recorded the first hat trick of the season for the Royals and recorded seven points as he also had an assist. The victory was the largest margin of victory for the Royals since 2018 when they defeated Catawba 8-2.

Turning Point

Less than three minutes into the match, Queens had a throw-in opportunity in front of the Jacksonville bench and near the Dolphin goalkeeper. On the throw-in, Samuel Idinge found Oskar Wolf in front of the goal where Wolf was able to hit the header into the top right corner of the net and giving the Royals an early 1-0 lead. In the second half, Queens took full control as they scored four goals in an 18 minute stretch. Michel Feldman allotted points in all four goals as he scored three goals and had an assist.

  • Lauri Kesti made his first career start for the Royals. In the match he also recorded his first career shot on goal and first career goal while playing 63 minutes.

  • The hat trick for Michel Feldman was the first of his career, and the first since Felipe Mendonca recorded one during his senior night game in 2022, also against Jacksonville.

  • The early goal was the first in the career of Oskar Wolf and his first points of the season.

  • The five goals are the most goals scored for Queens as a Division I team and is the largest margin of victory for the Royals since defeating Catawba 8-2 in 2018

  • Freshman Brock Gramann recorded one shot attempt for his third of the season

  • Alex Acton played a season-high 17 minutes in the match

  • Samuel Idinge and Oskar Wolf each played all 90 minutes

The Royals remain home as they host ACC opponent Virginia Tech on Tuesday, October 17th at 5:00 PM. The Hokies are coming off a matchup against the number eight-ranked Notre Dame in which they lost 1-0. This will be the first-ever matchup between the Royals and the Hokies.
