CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After taking the first two sets on the evening, the Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball team suffered a tough loss as Charleston Southern adjusted and rallied the final three sets to victory.

Alleigh Johnson led the Royals attack with a career-high 18 kills as the Royals fell in a five-set battle.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Alleigh Johnson led the Queens' offensive attack with 18 kills from the outside. The double-digit performance was the sophomores third consecutive this season, and 11th of her career.
- Sophomore Jordyn Johnson turned in her seventh career double-double with a 12 kill and 12 dig performance.
- Kendall Buish posted her third straight double-double with a career-best 32 assists and 11 digs.
- Freshman Hallie Brown and senior Abbey Criser teamed up for 10 blocks and nine kills each. Together, Queens recorded 14 blocks as a team.
- Royals libero Jesse George held down the back line with 19 digs.
- Eight Royals notched a kill on the evening while six Royals finished with at least five kills.
- As a team, Queens hit .222 compared to a .258 clip from Charleston Southern. The Royals won the service line with seven aces, including three from Kaylin Dowling.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
- Despite seeing the largest deficit of the first set at 7-3, the Royals sparked a quick 5-1 surge to regain momentum in the set and carried the rally towards their third straight opening set victory.
- After trailing 11-8 midway through the second set, the Royals went on a thunderous 8-3 run taking a 16-14 lead and forcing a Charleston Southern timeout.
- Queens used an impressive 7-0 rally midway through the third set, but the Buccaneers held off the Royals behind a 16 kill performance.
- The fourth set was an absolute battle as both squads tallied 18 kills each. The difference proved to be the Buccaneers one error compared to the Royals four.
- After jumping out to a 6-4 advantage, Charleston Southern used a 5-0 run to storm from behind.
