CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team set a regular season attendance record this evening with 307 in the stands as they fell short to the Davidson College Wildcats, 6-2. The Wildcats move to 3-0 on the year while the Royals remain in search of their first win of the season at 0-2.

With the Royals trailing 3-0 at the close of the first quarter, Queens freshman midfielder
Sydney Smith put back-to-back goals on the board for the Royals to pull the home team within one, 3-2, of the Wildcats heading into the halftime break. However, the Royals would not find the back of the cage in the second half as Davidson scored three more times before the final horn sounded.
