CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Women's basketball head coach Jen Brown announces the addition of versatile guard/forward Kinley Brown for the 2022-23 season.
"Kinley is a physical slasher who plays with a chip on her shoulder. She gives us great size and versatility at the guard/ forward spot. We are elated to add someone of her character and work ethic to our program."
The junior forward comes to Charlotte by way of McLennan Community College, where she played a key role in McLennan's rotation last season. Brown played in all 28 of the Highlander's games last season, starting in 11. She contributed nicely on both sides of the ball, averaging 8.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, while grabbing 31 steals.
"I have decided to choose Queens University as my next home because it really felt like a family-oriented environment" said Brown. "Also while talking to Coach Brown, I really felt like she would help me move to a higher level within basketball and life. So therefore, I am extremely ecstatic and grateful to have the opportunity to be a student-athlete at Queens!"
Prior to McLennan, Kinley attended Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, before transferring to the Division I NJCAA institution for a season.
Brown was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and impressed in her high school career with 12 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Her efforts earned a First-team all-district selection, as well as a TGCA and TABC academic all-state selection.
