CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's rugby team lost its spring opener to Division 1-A second ranked Army by a final score of 34-12.

Jeremiah Curry and Doyle Hedgepeth scored tries for the Royals and Hilton Olivier scored one conversion.

Queens entered as the second ranked team in Division 1-AA, but could not dismount the Black Knights in their first match of the new year.

The Royals will prepare for tournament action at Mount St. Mary's on March 25-26.
