No. 1 Queens Remains Undefeated with Win at Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, N.C. – The top-ranked Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team traveled to take on Lenoir-Rhyne University this afternoon, defeating the Bears 24-2 to improve to 9-0 on the year and 3-0 in South Atlantic Conference play.
 
Queens had the upper hand in today's matchup, outshooting Lenoir-Rhyne 44-9 to put 31 shots on goal to the Bears' four shots on frame. The Royals also won 18 of 28 draw controls and totaled 21 ground balls to their opponent's nine.
 
Kaitlyn Hardin led the Royals in points today with eight on three goals and five assists. Rebecca Kinsley led in goals with five to go along with two assists while Kyleigh Masteran added four goals and two assists. Shannon Kingston also totaled four goals and an assist and Shannon Donovan added four points on a pair of goals and a pair of assists.
 
The Royals were dominant from the start of this afternoon's game scoring 10 unanswered goals in just the first quarter of play to start the running clock. They would go on to build a 14-0 lead by the halftime break, and led 18-0 before allowing the Bears to get on the board with 3:31 left to play in the third quarter.
 
Queens scored five more goals in a row before the Bears saw their second and final goal of the day with 2:46 left in regulation. The Royals then closed the game with another from Stephanie Joyce at just under the minute mark to give the game its finals score.
 
Queens will be on the road on Wednesday, Mar. 30 at Coker. The start time is set for 4 p.m.
