CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team suffered a challenging defeat against Division I member by James Madison University, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center.
Though, the junior duo
Edoardo Bottino and
Edoardo Cecere were able to win the first doubles play, 6-3, it wasn't enough for the Royals, as JMU squeaked out the doubles point with a 7-5 win at No. 3.
As for the singles play, JMU wouldn't let the Royals have it, splitting the wins down the middle. The Dukes opened singles play with a win at No. 1 before junior
Edoardo Cecere pulled the Royals to 1-1 with a decisive 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.
Berk Ulas Enc lead by example as he notched his second victory of the year, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 at No. 4 singles while Freshman
Laurenz Blickwede followed in victory as he won 6-1, 6-1 in an impressive overall performance at No. 5 singles.
