CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After falling behind 3-1, the Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team stormed back with three straight singles victories to defeat the NC A&T Aggies 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center. The comeback victory marks the Royals first win at home as they improved to 2-0 on the season.
 
 
The two programs duelled it out in doubles action to kick off the afternoon as Yoan Roussinov and Euan Lynes emerged victories 6-2 in No. 3 doubles. Ultimately, the Aggies would grab the early 1-0 advantage notching wins in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles despite a tough battle from the Royals on both courts.
 
 
The singles play opened with NC A&T winning on No. 1 and 3 courts to extend the lead to 3-1. Senior Jan Malmon put the Royals on the board first looking to inch closer with a decisive 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles. Freshman Win Steveker improved to 2-0 on the season winning 6-1 in the third set of No. 4 singles to bring the Royals within striking distance. Looking for victories in the final two matches, Edoardo Cecere came through clutch in No. 2 singles fighting back from a set down to emerge victorious in the final frame 6-3 giving the Royals a shot. In the decisive third set, Yoan Roussinov fought off the match point to seal the win for the Royals in a dramatic win 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) in a third set tie breaker.
