Royals Fall at Home to Carson-Newman

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team (6-15, 5-16) hosted Carson-Newman University (19-5, 16-4) in a make-up game this afternoon inside Curry Arena falling 105-54 to the Eagles.
 
The Royals, plagued with injuries that kept a large portion of their roster on the sideline this afternoon, could never quite get into an offensive rhythm in today's game as they finished shooting just 33.3-percent from the floor compared to Carson-Newman's 63.2-percent shooting.
 
Queens was led by Kalaya Hall who finished with 16 points. Amari Davis followed with 13 points and Malea Garrison added nine points and six rebounds. Jori Wilks led under the glass with nine rebounds.
 
The Eagles were led by Braelyn Wykle who totaled 25 points. Lindsey Taylor added 21 points and Addison Wilson scored 19 points. Campbell Penland and Skylar Boshears contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively.
 
Queens had their best shooting of the day in the third quarter when they performed with a 61.54-percent clip shooting 8-of-13 from the floor. However, the Eagles would shoot 83.33-percent in the same quarter connecting on 15-of-18 field goals.
 
Queens is back at home hosting Limestone University on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
