The Short Story:Â The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team used a dominant second half performance to storm past Paine College as the Royals outscored the visitors 52-29 in the final 20 minutes.

Gavin Rains notched his 18
th career double-double and fourth this season with a 12 point and 19 rebound performance. The 19 rebounds were a career-high and tied the program's single game record set by Daniel Camps on Feb. 1, 2016.

AJ McKee reached double figures for the ninth straight game scoring 12 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing out a season-high six assists.

Quan McCluney found his groove on offense pouring in a season-high 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. The Gastonia native played a season-high 19 minutes.

BJ McLaurin and
Kalib Mathews continued to mesh on the court as the pair combined for 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Trey Hubbard returned to the court for the Royals after missing the last five games. The sophomore guard dropped seven points, two assists, and two rebounds across 10 minutes off the bench.
-The Royals depth was on full display as 12 Royals saw nine or more minutes of action. The Royals bench outscored Paine 36-5.
-For the game, Queens managed to shoot 49-percent from the field and 35-percent from the behind the arc while holding the Lions to a 37-percent clip from the field.
-The Royals outrebounded the Lions 53-24, including a season-high 18 offensive rebounds which were converted into 26 points.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Leading 17-14 in the first half, the Royals would spark a 12-5 run across four minutes to grab a 29-19 advantage.
-Queens wasted no time in the second half jolting out to a 51-37 lead behind a 14-6 run.

-The rebounding margin is the largest since the Royals outrebounded Tusculum by 27 on Jan. 20, 2018.
-The 34 three-point attempts were the ninth most attempts by a Royals squad in a single game.
-In the last six games, Queens is shooting 48-percent from the field and averaging 81.3 points during that span.
-Queens improved to 223-64 inside Curry Arena and 167-30 in the last seven years.
