CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team (1-14) closed its 2022 campaign this afternoon with a 5-1 win over Limestone University (5-11) on Senior Day. The win is the first for the program since the Royals were reclassified to Division I.

Turning Point
The Royals got on the board quickly in today's match when Limestone's keeper committed a foul in front of the cage that resulted in a penalty stroke for the home team. Freshman
Jarmilla Richter would step up to put the Royals in front, 1-0, less than five minutes into the game. Queens then scored their second goal of the day at 9:05 off of a penalty corner.
Kennedy Bratton scored the goal by tapping a shot into the cage from
Gabe Lechner.
After scoring another goal in the second quarter off of another penalty corner, Queens headed into the halftime break with a 3-0 lead. The Royals maintained control of the game through the second half, allowing the Saints two shots on goal the entire game.
