Kenny Dye Pours in 24 Points as Royals Defeat Bowling Green on the Road

The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team picked up their first true road victory of the season at Bowling Green on Tuesday night as Kenny Dye led the charge with a game-high 24 points.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Kenny Dye matched his season-high with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field. The senior guard set new season-highs playing 37 minutes and sinking nine field goals.
-AJ McKee reached double figures for the eighth straight game totaling 11 points while matching his season-high grabbing seven rebounds. The sophomore also swiped a pair of steals and recorded two blocks.
-Jay'Den Turner maintained his season average scoring nine points and grabbing nine rebounds, including four offensive boards.
-Sophomore Chris Ashby came off the Royals bench and drilled three shots from behind the arc for nine points across 14 minutes.
-Making his third straight start, sophomore Kalib Mathews played a career-high 34 minutes and finished with six points and three rebounds.
-The Royals shot an impressive 48-percent from the field, including a 55-percent mark in the opening half.
-Queens turned the ball over 19 times on the night which the Falcons managed to convert into 21 points.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Queens went on a 12-2 run over a four-minute span early to take a 15-7 lead. In that run, the Royals went 4-for-5 from the field as Kenny Dye poured in 10 points.
-Bowling Green opened the second half going 5-for-8 from the field and outscoring the Royals 14-6.
-Leading 60-59 with four minutes remaining, the Royals closed out the evening on a 12-7 push to halt the Falcons comeback efforts.
 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-Queens shot 60-percent from three-point range in the first half marking a season-high in one half.
-Kenny Dye has reached double figures in all eight games this season and 19 straight games dating back to last season.
-AJ McKee has recorded a steal in seven of the Royals eight games, including five in the last three games.
-The Royals 61-percent clip from the free throw line was the lowest of the season.

The Royals will return to Curry Arena on Saturday, Dec. 3rd when they welcome Paine College to kickstart the month of December.
