The Short Story: The Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team captured the 2022 Rose Hall Division Championship at the Jamaica Classic as Jay'Den Turner led the way with a career-high 23 points.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Junior forward Jay'Den Turner led the Royals with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting while also pulling down seven rebounds.
-Kenny Dye continued to dominate dropping 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 mark from behind the arc. The senior also dished out five assists.
-AJ McKee reached double figures for the fifth straight game scoring 10 points and grabbing a pair of rebounds.
-BJ McLaurin maintained his presence down low tying his season-high with 10 points and matching his career-high with nine rebounds.
-Gavin Rains and Kalib Mathews combined for 11 points and 14 rebounds.
-Queens shot 50-percent from the field and 33-percent from behind the arc while holding the Bears to a 43-percent clip from the field and 26-percent mark from deep.
-The Royals continued to dominate the paint outrebounding Morgan State 42-26.
-Morgan State managed to hang around by forcing 22 Queens turnovers and capitalizing with 23 points off those turnovers.


NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Queens opened the game on 12-2 run as Jay'Den Turner drained seven points going 3-for-3 shooting and forcing a Morgan State timeout.
-The Royals would open that early lead to as much as 22-2 before Morgan State would respond with a 9-2 run over a five-minute span as the Royals cooled off.
-After taking a 37-25 lead into the break, the Royals would continue to extend their lead as the Bears never came within eight points of the lead for the remainder of the game.

 
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
-The Royals defense surrendered 25 points in the first half which was the least amount of points given up in a half since they allowed 21 in the SAC Championship last season against Carson-Newman.
-Kenny Dye has scored 15 or more points in three consecutive games as he sits second in the league in points per game.
-Queens has shot 50-percent from the field in three of their five games this season.
-In the last two seasons, Queens is 31-5 when outrebounding their opponents.
