Queens Plays Final of 12 Straight Road Games at Stonehill

NORTH EASTON, Mass. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team (0-14) played its final of 12 straight road games this afternoon at Stonehill (3-12) falling 2-1 to the Skyhawks in the final minute of the game. Stonehill snaps a seven-game skid with the win.

Turning Point
After falling behind late in the first period of play, the Royals were able to knot the game at 1-1 just before the half on a goal from Fay Van De Roer.
 
In the second half, the game appeared to be heading for overtime, but Stonehill's Sarah Latham was able to knock a loose ball into the back of the cage to put the Skyhawks in front with less than a minute to play.

  • Freshman Fay Van De Roer notched the second goal of her career as a Royal.
  • Isabel Buijse's assist is the second this season for the sophomore who has three points.
