Royals Draw at Bellarmine on Saturday Night

LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team (4-10-1 overall, 1-5-1 ASUN) played the Bellarmine Knights (6-3-6 overall, 2-2-3 ASUN) to a scoreless draw on Saturday night. The tie marked the Royals second straight clean sheet after defeating High Point earlier in the week 1-0.

Turning Point
Following a scoreless game into the 80th minute, the evening changed when the Royals earned a penalty kick after a Bellarmine handball inside the box. Looking at the best scoring opportunity of the night for either team, senior Felipe Mendonca toed up a shot on goal which was initially saved by the Bellarmine goalkeeper. After the ball deflected right to Mendonca, the senior ripped a second shot into net which beat the keeper, but the goal was called off due to infringement outside the 18-yard box.
