DURHAM, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team wrapped up day two of the ITA Division I Carolina Regional on Saturday. The afternoon was highlighted by a doubles victory from
Edoardo Bottino and
Edoardo Cecere over The Citadel in the Round of 64. Queens faced elite competition on day two from the University of North Carolina, North Carolina Central, The Citadel, and Clemson.
"We are very proud of the guys and their constant effort and fight this weekend," said Head Coach
Michael Cabana! "We did a lot of really good things and we learned what we need to do moving forward to continue to become better. We understand that we below and that we can compete with the best in the region and I look forward to using the rest of this fall to move forward in preparation for the spring season."
The ITA Carolina Regional is being hosted by Duke University at the Cary Tennis Park. Participating teams including Campbell, College of Charleston, Charlotte, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Davidson, Duke, Elon, Furman, Gardner-Webb, North Carolina, North Carolina A&T, UNC Asheville, North Carolina Central, N.C. State, UNC Wilmington, Presbyterian, South Carolina, South Carolina State, The Citadel, Queens, Wake Forest, and Wofford.
