Royals Tally Season-High 22 Shots in Battle against Central Arkansas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (2-6-4 overall, 2-3-1 ASUN) saw their two-game winning streak snapped on Sunday afternoon at the hands of the Central Arkansas Bears (4-7-2 overall, 2-3-1 ASUN). Prior to the match, the Royals celebrated their remarkable senior class for all of their hard work and accomplishments.

Turning Point
The turning point of the afternoon proved to be the Bears immediate response after the Royals equalizer. On a set piece near midfield, Taylor Webb toed up an incredible shot which snuck through the Royals defense and into the bottom left corner of the goal.
 
Key Stats & Notes
  • Junior forward Sophia Muetterties scored in her second straight game for the Royals. The second half equalizer was her second goal this season, and sixth in her career. Muetterties ripped a season-best five shots in the contest with three being on goal.
  • Senior Logan Farrelly tallied her second career assist on the second half goal for her eighth career point. Farrelly also added four shots tying her career-high back on Oct. 12, 2019.
  • Hilda Svensson and Grace Guglielmo recorded three shots each and combined to put five on frame.
  • As a team, Queens earned a season-high 22 shots, including 15 in the second half. The Royals managed to put 12 shots on goal. In the last three matches, Queens has recorded 51 total shots.
  • 10 different Royals recorded a shot on the afternoon.
  • The Royals won the battle in the corner 4-3 and earned a pair of set pieces in the first half.
  • Five Royals, including Erica Turner, Logan Farrelly, Morgan Reeb, Jada Palmer, and Sophia Muetterties turned in a complete game. For Turner and Palmer, the mark is their 12th straight complete game.
  • Queens maintained control of the match by winning the possession battle 54-46 with 63-percent of their possession coming in the attacking zone.

Queens will begin a three-game road stretch next Sunday, October 9th when they travel to Liberty University for a pivotal ASUN battle. Following the trip to Virginia, the Royals will head to the sunshine state for a match at North Florida on Thursday, Oct. 13 before finishing at Jacksonville on Sunday, Oct. 16.
