CHARLOTTE, N.C - The Queens University of Charlotte Department of Athletics maintained its consistent 3.3+ GPA during the 2021 fall semester recording a 3.35 GPA. Having recorded over a 3.0 GPA for the last decade, the Royals posted above a 3.3 GPA for the third straight season during the 2020-21 season.

"Our student-athletes continue to persevere and be resilient, and we continue to cheer them on proudly," Queens director of athletics
Cherie Swarthout stated. "They have once again shown that you can demonstrate excellence in athletics and academics without having to compromise either. The tremendous leadership from our coaches and faculty does not go unnoticed either as we all work together to support their success."

The women's triathlon NCAA team recorded a 3.75 GPA to lead the department while women's tennis (3.71) and women's volleyball (3.67) wrapped the top three coming in second and third, respectively. Additionally, the men's swimming team recorded a 3.60 GPA to top the men's leaderboard. Â

Queens Athletics also saw 107 student-athletes record 4.0s for the semester to match last fall's numbers. Additionally, 253 student-athletes recorded a 3.70 or higher and 413 recorded a 3.3 or higher. Each group of student-athletes is now eligible to either become a member of the Athletic Royal Society, Athletic Gold Standard, or the Royals Athletic Director's Honor Roll pending their spring academic performance.

This semester's performance follows a 2020-2021 season that saw the Royals record a 3.4 GPA or higher for the second year in a row.
