Women's Rugby Pitches Shutout in Win over Navy

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's rugby team defeated Navy 88-0 pitching its fourth shutout victory of the season.

The Royals 15's took control of the match early and dominated possession in the decisive victory. Maddie Hughes led the way with four tries and one conversion followed by Lea Preuss who scored two tries.

Megan Reed, Reese Vorster, Jenna Klenz, Megan Friel, Jay Stone, Alle English, Teaghan Steele, and Maggie Dineen each scored one try.

English led the Royals with seven conversions while Shelby Tippin had one.

The Royals advance to a perfect 5-0 to start their fall campaign. Queens hosts UNC Charlotte next Saturday, September 25th at 1 p.m.
