HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's golf team scored a tournament-best 299 in round two of the SAC Fall Preview to take second place in its season opening tournament with a final score of 607. The tournament featured six South Atlantic Conference teams hosted by Coker University at Hartsville Country Club. The Royals finished seven strokes behind Lincoln Memorial who finished at 600 to take first place.
Three Royals finished in the top ten of the individual standings.
Peyton Gillespie led the way scoring a 74 in round two to finish at 150 to tie for fourth place.
Charleigh Hodges and
Esther Huang both had strong closing rounds scoring 152's to tie for ninth.
Emelia Pack matched Gillespie's 74 in round two to climb to 13th place scoring a 153.
Olivia Anderson followed with a 76 for a final score of 158 to tie for 20th.
Queens strong day-two performance ushered them past Wingate and Lenoir-Rhyne to earn second place in its first competition of the season.
The Royals return to their home state for the Battle for Royalty held in Southern Pines, N.C. on September 20-21.
