CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (2-2, 0-0 SAC) faced No.16 Columbus State University (3-0-1) this afternoon at Dickson Field, falling 1-0 to the Cougars.

Despite the first half of today's game seeing a combined total of 10 shots in the opening half, neither team would find the back of the net as the score set tied at 0-0 at the break. Queens goalkeeper
Erica Turner finished the half with four saves.

In the second, the Cougars controlled much of the game offensively totaling 11 shots to Queens' one. Turner was pivotal during the half, keeping the Royals in the game with her stellar play in goal this afternoon. She would tally seven saves in the second half to give her a season-high total of 11 in the game.

The Cougars scored their game-winner in the 74
th on a header from Parker Morgan off a corner kick from Maria Kilset who recorded the assist on the play.

Queens finished the match with a total of five shots to Columbus State's 17. The Royals put two shots on goal compared to the Cougars' 12 shots on goal.

With the loss, Queens' record sits 1-1 versus top 25 ranked opponents this season.

The Royals will be back in action Wednesday, September 15 when they open South Atlantic Conference play at home against Wingate at 5 p.m.
