SUMTER, S.C. – The second-seeded Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team made quick work of its first postseason match of the year, earning a 4-0 win over seventh-seeded Carson-Newman University in the SAC Men's Tennis Championships Quarterfinals from the Palmetto Tennis Center.
 
Doubles play saw the Queens' duo of Edoardo Bottino/Edoardo Cecere win 6-2 in the second flight followed by a 7-5 win at No. 3 from the tandem of Berk Enc/Jan Malmon to put the Royals ahead with the first point of the match.
 
In singles play, the Royals secured the match win with three straight victories and advance to the semifinal round. Paolo Bompieri was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at No. 2 for Queens, while Cecere (6-2, 6-0) and Enc (6-2, 6-3) won in straight sets at Nos. 3 and 5, respectively.
 
Queens will now face Tusculum University in a semifinal matchup tomorrow afternoon at 12 p.m.
