GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team traveled to face Limestone University looking to avenge a 2019 conference tournament final loss. However, the Royals would come up short losing 2-0 in the match to move to 1-2 on year.
The Saints' game-winner would come early in this evening's game as Kelly Diplock scored in just the second minute of play on an assist from Manon Vincent. Diplock then put an insurance goal in the back of the cage in the 53
rd.
Gabe Lechner and
Molly Walter each totaled two shots to lead the Royals. As a team, Queens totaled just six shots, putting three on goal.
Avian Thompson took the loss in the cage after totaling four saves in 60 minutes of play.
The Royals will be back in action on the road at Coker on Friday, March 19 at 4 p.m.
